Assembling your story

iMovie – 10.1.2 - Process
  1. Set up
  2. Import a soundtrack 
  3. Add images and/or video clips
  4. ​Refine / edit
  5. Adding special effects​, trailers, etc
  6. Exporting and sharing the final product​

IMovie Preferences - NB Starting points - can be changed during editting
​
Slo-Mo Clips: Uncheck
Photo Placement: Crop to Fill
Photo Duration: 5.0 Seconds
​Transitions: 1.0 Seconds
​​Theatre: Uncheck
File - New Project
My Media - Photos Library should be visible
Audio - find soundtrack created in GB

Start with your sound

Contrary to what I imagined I found that it is usually easier to assemble the soundtrack and fit the images/clips to it than the other way around. This may be particulary so with Digital Stories. 
​Click Audio to find your audio resources. Your track should be in the iTunes folder. Note search
​

Add images

Click on My Media
The project folder should be visible. Open if necessary and you will see the images you have selected to work with.
​Drag the images into the timeline. NB they will fit the format chosen in preferences. 
​
